The BSc in Nursing at Delexes Institute of Science and Technology is designed to produce highly competent, ethically grounded, and globally aware nurses who are ready to meet the healthcare challenges of today — and tomorrow. This program blends science with compassion, theory with clinical practice, and local relevance with international standards.

Program Objectives

Graduates of this program will be able to:

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in diverse health settings

Apply biomedical and behavioral sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care

Demonstrate professional ethics, leadership, and communication skills

Promote health education, disease prevention, and community health initiatives

Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Engage in lifelong learning and contribute to nursing research and policy

What You’ll Study

This is a full-time undergraduate program structured over four academic years, with eight semesters of coursework and clinical training.

Core Modules Include:

Hands-on clinical placements begin as early as the second semester and continue throughout the program in:

Public and private hospitals
Community health centers
Maternal and child clinics
Emergency and specialty units
Students gain real-world experience under professional supervision, aligned with standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (NMC).

Clinical Training

Hands-on clinical placements begin as early as the second semester and continue throughout the program in:

Emergency and specialty units

Students gain real-world experience under professional supervision, aligned with standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (NMC).

Entry Requirements

WASSCE/SSCE Applicants:

Core Subjects: English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies.
Electives (Any three): Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Elective Math, Home Economics, Management in Living, CRS, Literature in English, French, Economics, or Agric Science.

Diploma Holders:

Diploma in Nursing with a GPA of 3.25 or higher
May enter at Level 200 or 300 after a selection interview

Mature Applicants:

Must have a nursing qualification (e.g. SRN, RM, RMN, RCN)
Pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Exam
Must have credit in English and Mathematics

International Students:

Must provide equivalent qualifications and proof of English proficiency.
Must meet standards set by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the BSc Nursing program can work as:

Registered Nurses in hospitals and clinics

Community Health Nurses

School or Corporate Nurses

Research Assistants in public health or academic settings

Future Nurse Educators or Advanced Practice Nurses (with further study)
